Frequently Asked Questions
How do I better understand your product sizing?
Our pieces are designed to be dainty. Please refer to our size chart before making your purchase!
Why did your prices increase?
Our jewelry is crafted in 925 sterling silvery and solid 14K gold; real precious metal whose market prices fluctuate. Gold is currently trading near historic highs, up significantly over the past two years. When the cost of gold and silver rises, the true value of every piece we make rises with it. Our pricing reflects the actual gold and silver content in your jewelry, the cost of skilled American craftsmanship, and the integrity of materials that will last a lifetime. We believe in honest pricing over artificial discounts, which means when gold moves, our prices move with it.
Why are your prices higher than other horse jewelry brands?
Most equestrian jewelry on the market is gold-plated, gold-filled, or made overseas. Every solid gold piece from The Gilded Horse is cast in genuine 14K gold, assembled and finished by hand in the USA. You are not buying the appearance of gold, you are buying the real thing. Comparable solid gold pieces from fine jewelry brands like David Yurman or Monica Vinader are priced similarly or significantly higher. The difference is that ours connects you to the equestrian world you love.
Why does a small piece cost so much?
Dainty does not mean less gold, it means precision. Our smaller medallion pieces contain real 14K gold or 925 sterling silver, and smaller pieces often require more intricate labor per gram than larger ones because the tolerances are tighter. The craftsmanship required to cast and finish a small medallion cleanly is not less than a large one — in many ways, it is more. What you are holding is a precision object made from a precious metal, by skilled hands, in America.
Is solid 14K gold worth the investment?
Gold has historically held and grown its value over time, and it has increased over 130% in value since 2020 alone. A solid gold piece purchased today carries intrinsic metal value that does not disappear the way fashion jewelry does. Sterling silver and gold-plated pieces are beautiful and accessible, but they do not carry the same material value. If you are deciding between silver and gold, think of it this way: silver is a meaningful piece of jewelry. Gold is a meaningful piece of jewelry that also holds real worth.
Will prices go up again?
Possibly; and we will always be transparent about it. Our gold and silver prices are tied to real market rates. If gold continues to rise, our pricing will reflect that. If you have been considering a piece, buying at today's price locks in today's gold market. We do not run frequent sales or manufacture urgency, but gold prices are real, and they move in one direction over time.
What is The Gilded Horse?
The Gilded Horse is a luxury jewelry brand offering gold and silver pieces featuring our trademarked horse emblem—a symbol of elegance and equine passion. Launched in March 2025, we create timeless designs for horse lovers and jewelry enthusiasts worldwide.
What is your mission?
Our mission is to adorn you with exquisite jewelry for everyday and special moments, delivering exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and customer service. We embrace minimal and dainty designs, and we’re passionate about celebrating equine culture through our unique pieces.
Do you give back to the community?
Yes! We donate approximately 5% of our profits to equine charities, supporting horse welfare and equestrian communities across the United States of America.
What types of jewelry do you offer?
Our collection currently includes necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, primarily in solid gold, white gold, gold-plated, and sterling silver. Our flagship product is the “Classic Anchored Pendant Necklace” featuring an outline of our horse emblem, in the metal of your choice. The Gilded Horse Medallion Collection has become a symbol of horse lovers, world-wide. We plan to expand our product offerings over time by introducing different sizes and styles, as well as new products and materials.
Are your materials ethically sourced?
Absolutely. We partner with Responsible Jewellery Council-certified suppliers to ensure our gold, silver, and diamonds are ethically sourced, prioritizing sustainability and transparency.
What is the difference between your sterling silver and solid gold pieces?
Our sterling silver pieces (925) use the same equestrian designs and are assembled in the USA with the same care as our gold collection. Silver is an accessible entry point into The Gilded Horse and carries genuine craftsmanship value. Gold pieces carry that plus the intrinsic value of the metal itself. Both are real. Both are meaningful. The choice comes down to how you want to wear it and what you want it to represent.
What am I actually paying for in a solid gold piece?
Every price reflects:
- 14K gold at current market rates — the metal alone represents a significant portion of the price
- USA casting, hand finishing, and quality inspection
- A diamond-cut chain (necklaces) in the same 14K gold as the pendant
- Design rooted in Kentucky's equestrian heritage
- A 30-day satisfaction guarantee
- Free domestic UPS Ground shipping
- 5% of profits donated to equine charities
When you buy a solid gold piece from The Gilded Horse, you are not paying for packaging or marketing. You are paying for real materials, real craftsmanship, and a piece designed to be worn every day for decades.
How does your pricing compare to other fine jewelry brands?
The Gilded Horse is priced in line with or below comparable USA-made solid gold fine jewelry. Our 14K medallion necklaces sit in the same tier as pieces from Kendra Scott's fine collection, Gorjana, and entry-level David Yurman — brands whose craftsmanship and materials are comparable to ours. The difference is that our pieces are made specifically for the equestrian world, by people who grew up in it.
Why don't you list the weight of your pieces?
Jewelry weight is a meaningful metric, but raw gram weights without context can be misleading. A small piece of solid 14K gold contains real gold content whose value at today's market rates is substantial — the metal alone in our smaller medallion pieces represents a significant portion of the price. Rather than list a number that invites misinterpretation, we describe the gold content, karat quality, and craftsmanship in every product description. If you would like to know the specific gram weight of a piece before purchasing, please reach out to us directly.
Do you offer different chain options for your necklaces and bracelets?
No, not at this time. Each one of our necklaces and bracelets comes with a thoughtfully selected chain. Our chains are dainty, yet durable, like our jewelry pieces. The specifics of the chain and the clasp are listed in our product descriptions. Most of our necklace pendants can be removed and placed on a different chain, if you desire to do so.
Do you offer engraving on your pieces?
Currently, no, but we are exploring how to best offer this option to you, in the future.
Do you offer men’s jewelry?
While our initial collection primarily targets women, we’re expanding to include men’s accessories like belt buckles and rings, with new designs planned for 2026.
Do you have anything other than jewelry?
Yes, we have a limited collection of apparel for you to choose from. Our shirts and hats are top-quality and always feature our logo embroidered, never printed. Apparel ships directly from our merchandising partner, Printful.
