Our Commitment

The Gilded Horse was born on a Kentucky family farm, around horses that have been part of our lives since before we could walk. Giving back to them was never a marketing decision — it’s simply who we are.

That’s why we donate 5% of our net revenue every year, split equally between two Kentucky nonprofits working on the front lines of equine welfare: the Kentucky Horse Council and the Kentucky Equine Adoption Center. With every piece you buy, you help fund real work for horses in need.

How It Started

In April 2026, at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, co-founders Cassie and Mitch Allen struck up a conversation with Sarah Coleman, Executive Director of the Kentucky Horse Council. That same weekend, they drove out to the Kentucky Equine Adoption Center’s 72-acre farm in Nicholasville and met Executive Director Carrie Wood.

By the end of it, all three organizations realized they shared the same vision — and rather than launch separate campaigns, they chose to move forward as one big family, united by a single mission: to care for horses when they need it most.

Kentucky Horse Council

A Lexington-based 501(c)(3), the Kentucky Horse Council meets horse owners on their hardest days. Through its Save Our Horses Feed Assistance Fund, Euthanasia Assistance Program, emergency rescue training, equine health alerts, and statewide disaster response, KHC steps in when owners have nowhere else to turn.

“We meet horse owners on their hardest days, when they can’t afford feed or a vet bill and don’t know where else to turn. A partner like The Gilded Horse means we get to say yes more often.”

Kentucky Equine Adoption Center

Founded in 2006, KYEAC is Kentucky’s largest all-breed equine rescue, caring for 35–50 animals at any given time on its 72-acre farm. The center rehabilitates rescued horses, minis, donkeys, and mules, and — through its eight-week Stable Foundations program — prepares each one for a loving new home.

“Every horse that arrives at KYEAC has a story, and every one deserves the opportunity to begin a new chapter. We’re grateful to The Gilded Horse for joining us in that mission.”

Carrie Wood, Executive Director, Kentucky Equine Adoption Center

Learn About KYEAC

“Kentucky is where this brand started, on my family’s farm, around horses that have been part of my life since before I could walk. Giving back here isn’t a marketing decision.”
