The Sotogrande is a limited-edition silk horse scarf and Katerina Morgan's original design, inspired by surrealist art. Horses appear and disappear across a dreamlike landscape of trees, and The Gilded Horse Medallion anchors every corner. It is also our first custom piece that is not jewelry.

The story

Katerina is an equestrian artist living near Sotogrande, Spain, the heart of European polo. Her design is printed in Italy by an atelier trusted by great luxury houses. Horses rendered in gold and silver tones surface and fade within the landscape, the way they stay with you after a good ride.

The design

The brown lines are trees, and our logo is worked into the design to look like tree bark. A chain motif runs along the edges. The Gilded Horse Medallion anchors all four corners, placed so the logo shows however you wear it, even tied as a triangle. The full logo sits quietly in one corner. The palette is warm autumn: olive, sage, forest green, taupe, chocolate brown, and golden ochre.

How to wear it

Tie it at your neck, knot it in your hair, loop it on your bag handle, or fold it into a triangle. It works on race day and from the barn to dinner.

General Care Tips
  • Be gentle: Always handle your jewelry with care to avoid bending, scratching, or damaging the metal or setting.
  • Mind high-impact activities: Our pieces are made for everyday wear, including riding. For activities with heavy impact or abrasion, like the gym or cleaning, you may want to take them off.
  • Polish regularly: Regularly polishing your jewelry with a soft cloth will help maintain its luster and shine. Be especially cautious with plated pieces, as excessive polishing may wear off the plating.
Solid Gold Jewelry Care

Solid gold is durable but still needs care to maintain its shine.

Wear it every day, including riding, barn work, rain and the shower. Take it off for pools, hot tubs, the ocean and cleaning products.

Cleaning:

  • Regularly wipe with a soft cloth to remove dirt.
  • For deeper cleaning, soak in warm water with mild soap for 10-15 minutes. Gently scrub with a soft brush and rinse with lukewarm water. Dry with a soft cloth.

Storage:

  • Keep in a soft pouch or jewelry box to avoid scratches.
  • Store separately from other jewelry to prevent damage.

Precautions:

  • Avoid contact with harsh chemicals like cleaning products, perfumes, and lotions.
  • Remove before swimming or working with chemicals.
Plated Gold Jewelry Care

Gold-plated jewelry has a thin layer of gold that can wear off over time.

Keep it dry. Take it off to wash your hands, shower, swim or work out, and before lotion or perfume.

Cleaning:

  • Wipe gently with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap. Avoid scrubbing.

Storage:

  • Store in an airtight bag or box to minimize exposure to air.
  • Keep away from other jewelry to prevent scratching.

Precautions:

  • Avoid water, lotions, perfumes, and chemicals, as they can wear off the plating.
  • Remove before exercise, cleaning, or swimming.
Silver Jewelry Care

Sterling silver can tarnish but is easy to care for.

Wear it every day, including riding and barn work. Take it off to shower, swim or clean. Dry it if it gets wet. Any tarnish polishes right off.

Cleaning:

  • Wipe regularly with a soft cloth to remove dirt and oils.
  • For tarnish, use a silver polish cloth or a baking soda paste. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

Storage:

  • Keep in a cool, dry place, ideally in an anti-tarnish pouch or cloth bag.
  • Use silica gel packs to absorb moisture if needed.

Precautions:

  • Remove before swimming in chlorinated or salty water.
  • Keep away from lotions, perfumes, and chemicals.
